Introduction

TAIBAH University is in limelight for its coaching and policies for employees. This is a fact that In Saudi Arabia tall the government universities have the same coaching techniques and policies for their employees. In this study, we will discuss about the coaching techniques and policies for their employees for making them more productive and efficient to attain the planed goals. Different coaching method or policies are here in TAIBAH UNIVERSITY for betterment of employee and their future. They are productive, active, effective and responsive in their task and this indicates the excellent mentoring that has led them towards the success.

This study will allow us to understand the important of coaching and other provided policies for the employees in the university. This is good for every organization to train their employees to deal with any situation and contribute in vision satisfaction. This study will emphasize on employees and trainers in the TAIBAH UNIVERSITY and relation between them. The best think is to let all the employees to implement the learned lessons in the different operations regarding their tasks.

This also affects on teachers to lead the students in the rights way. Talent of teachers is been polished with the proper coaching from the experience teachers and professionals. Therefore, this university has produced the exceptional results and all credits go to the coaches or mentors who trained the entire faculty. We can say that teacher is the main employees of the university and all the students are the clients for them.  Teachers are well trained to deal with every type of student and in end; this university is well recognized due to its relation between students and teachers. This university is a kind of an organization in which all the employees such as teachers, staff members, directors and the entire faculty are the employees and students are the clients for them.

Problem statement

TAIBAH UNIVERSITY has effective coaching system for its employees such as professors, teachers and other related staff to sustain the process of such a big university. There are immense students coming from the different sides of the country. Some steps are to discuss in this study in order to understand the coaching techniques. Research will emphasize on mutual trust, meeting and agreements between coachers and employees in TAIBAH UNIVERSITY. In this university, we are looking for those steps that are vital for the employees in their training to be more lucrative for the university. Apart with this, relations between employees and university are also to be found after an ongoing coaching process. We can also find many problems during the coaching process of employees in the universities, which can help us to cover in future.

Search Objectives

Search objectives for this study will be useful for us to understand the impact of coaching and its results in form of effective deliverables. Mentors and coaches are the professional consultants in this university to produce and develop the some new insights for the employees to be more productive and efficient in their tasks. This main objective of this search is to find the ways through coaching and mentor to motivate the employees to make them more productive and efficient. All the coaches and consultants are the honest people who meet the different employees to make the improvements in their professional life, which will bebeficial for tjem, and the university is well. TAIBAH UNIVERSITY is very prominent in this regard and that is why we are looking forward to catch those coaching skills and effectiveness from this research.

Research Questions

In this research, we have to design some questions from people involving in these coaching techniques and policies. These questions will help us to find the answer, which will relate to the objectives of this research. Selection of the questions was effective to have all-important answers from different stakeholders. Research questions are as following

  • Is coaching is effective and workable to let employees apply personal and organizational values in provided task and responsibilities?
  • Is coaching policy or method is well enough for the employees to make the more productive and efficient?
  • What are the different key coaching barriers in university, which contain the resistance in the effectiveness and success?
  • What is the limitation while coaching males and females in the university?

Limitations

There are some limitations in this research, which is very important to consider during the research process. I think time is the big limit in the coaching in this particular university. Normally it is found that teachers and other staff do not want to spend their time in the different training sessions. Apart with this, this is a fact that long duty hours do not allow all of them to join the coaching sessions. In additions, it is seen that all the employees are not looking forward to have the productive meeting and relationship with their mentors to be form that is more productive themselves and the university. Apart with this, lack of facilities also restricts the all stakeholders to evade the coaching sessions in the university.

Rational for Research

When a student comes in an educational institute for making his future then he expects too much from the faculty and all other professors and teachers. This is very interesting that effectiveness of coaching in TAIBAH UNIVERSITY has a direct impact on the students, which are considered as clients. Another aspect of this study is the retention of the employees in the university. Coaching motivates the employees in any organization is good to retain them in the same organization for a long time. Normally employees in the university move forward for their better future but it never experienced in TAIBAH UNIVERSITY.

This research is finding the benefits from coaching and mentoring.  Study will help us to understand the employee behaviors during the coaching and changes after the training process. Employees can grow, learn and connect effectively in their career paths. This is interesting that coaches and mentors are also included in the faculty member to train the other employees of this university, which is good to observe easy execution of learn skills during the training or coaching sessions. Rational of this research may be the loyally of all the employees with the university. This aspect has created an immense deliverables for both employees and students to produce the exceptional results.

Significance of research

Significant of this research is immense as many people can get benefits from this study. This research has its own important as it let understand and satisfy the reader about the effective coaching outcomes. This study is containing the all details about the environment of the university, which is affected with effective coaching policies and systems for the employees. Environment is cooperative in this university and study tells us the treatments with the employees of the university. This study corroborates the treatments with the new employees in this university. This is important for us to observe the encouragement and motivational level for the new employees to let settle in this new organization. This study has immense important for us as it elaborates about the personal attention of the coaches in order to evade their weakness and reluctance during their duties and tasks. For example, TAIBAH UNIVERSITY hires a teacher and she is facing reluctance while delivering the lectures to the students.

This study tells us about those coaching techniques and motivational aspects that help to cover these kinds of problems. With the research we can learn and develop the personal skills is well to be more productive and efficient for others and ourselves. Employees of this university are effective and most of them are well satisfied with their job as they are motivated and encouraged well by the coaches and mentors.

Literature Review

Employee motivation and effectiveness come with effective training or coaching system in an organization. This is true that TAIBAH UNIVERSITY is prominent in training their employees to make them productive and effective for the students and the university itself. In this university, employees are managed with the different coaching steps. These coaching steps are building the mutual trust, Meetings, agreements, considering the alternatives commitments to act, managing the excuses and providing the feedback. These are the main and effective steps that are used by the coaches and mentors for the employees.

Employees of this university are well-engaged wit the coaches on daily and weekly basis. This has helped them to create the day-to-day relationship between coaches and employees. with sustaining the effective relationship among the employees and mentors there is always a chance of conducting the effective meeting to analyze the performance of the employees. In TAIBAH UNIVERSITY, different coaches and mentors are available for the employees and arranged the different meeting and productive sessions for them. Terse are very friendly meeting in a very pleasant environment. These meetings are scheduled with teachers and other faculty members for improvements. Different agreements are included in the coaching process in TAIBAH UNIVERSITY and considered as the most critical process. Different employees come forward along with teachers and corroborate all the issues or barriers in their paths.  Coaches along with the experienced teachers are looking forward to cover these issues with proper identification process. This is very important for the coaches that they direct all the employees to do not change their behavior when these issues occur. I think this is the best training for teachers by the coaches in this TAIBAH UNIVERSITY. When a teacher is delivering the lecture in the class and an issue occurs then a teacher has to be a teacher in this particular situation to create the good moral inspiration on the students and others related staff.

TAIBAH UNIVERSITY is good in coaching as all the employees use to clarify their performances to the coaches and mentors to have the best solutions. Coaches and mentors probe accordingly and direct the employees regarding the best possible initiatives for their performance in the university. Research methodology:

            Research methodology is considered as an integral part of successful research. Research methodology explains the way they research will be initiated with the consideration of research process. According to Bryman and Bell (2011), it is based on the methods and their justification for the proposed research and the procedures involved. Choice of research methods are based on the nature of the knowledge required Saunders et al (2009). Current study evaluates the effectiveness of the teaching for the employees. Hence, methodological considerations will be established under the realm of study objectives. This section is comprised of different elements, which range from research approach to type of the research, research participants, and unit of analysis, data collection, research strategy, data analysis techniques and ethical consideration as well as research limitations. Inclusion of all such elements enhances the credibility and authenticity of the research under investigation. It is not a good idea to initiate the research in silo without consideration of research design and other important t elements. Detailed description of all elements include din the methodology section is given.

Research design:

            Research design paves the way for research. It is the first and foremost consideration in research methodology.  Research design explains that what would be the most appropriate philosophy for the research being undertaken and what research approach will facilitate research philosophy. Moreover, information about type of the research study also includes.

            Research philosophy

            Current research study employs interpretivism. This philosophy emphasizes on the interpretation of the subject under investigation with respect to participant’s viewpoint. This approach helps to investigate the effectiveness of coaching methods in the University. Effectiveness will be judge with the consideration of individual responses based of interpretations of the research participants. Role of researcher will minimum in this regard. According to Anderson (2009), this approach focuses on people instead of objectives. This approach allows flexibility and provides freedom to the respondents to interpret the subject under investigation. Statistical analysis is minimal and issues and problems are investigated in qualitative form. Apart from its advantages, it also possess drawback. Time limitation is a major drawback associated with this approach. This approach needs time to generate data, hence lack of time and financial resources inhibit the affectedness of this philosophy to some extent. However, current study does not venerable to time and financial constraints. Although study has time limitations, it can be initiated and completed in given period with strict adherence to period given for the research. Overall, this philosophy can best facilitate the intended purpose of the study, which is evaluating the effectiveness of coaching methods in university employees.

            Research approach

            There are two research approaches being followed in research, which are deductive and inductive research. According to Saunders et al (2009), deductive approach investigates the problem under investigation based on existing theories. Hypothesized relationships are built on the existing theoretical literature and subsequently proved through statistical data analysis. However, inductive approach is different. This approach builds theories from the data collection. First data is collected and then theories are developed under the light of findings. Current research study employs deductive research to investigate the problem under investigation. Hypothesized relationships to investigate the effectiveness of coaching methods will be assessed through deductive approach.

                Another important consideration is deciding the nature of the research. Current research is exploratory and involved in-depth investigation of the effectiveness of coaching methods in the university. There are three forms of research studies, which is descriptive, explanatory and exploratory. Current research study is qualitative by nature and exploratory research is best facilitated by qualitative data analysis and explanatory purpose of the research. It does not involve quantitative data analysis and rigorous statistical techniques. Rather, it focuses on qualitative data analysis with the consideration of personal observation and interpretation of coaching methods in the university.

            Type of the research

            Present study is qualitative and employs qualitative data analysis techniques. Qualitative studies do not employ rigorous statistical techniques to interpret the data. Instead, qualitative data analysis techniques are employed. For instance, popular techniques include interviews and observations. Qualitative studies best facilitate exploratory superpose of the research and supports interpret approach. As for as quantitative study is concerned, it include various statistical techniques which are considered as rigorous methodological and statistical procedures to interpret and forecast the data. However, qualitative study employs qualitative data analysis tools such as frequencies, charts, graphs and tabulations.

            These are the simple yet affective tools for qualitative data analysis. Current reproach study will analyze the responses of the employees regarding coaching methods with qualitative data analysis tools. Trends in effectiveness of coaching methods interpreted by the employees will be analyzed with frequencies, charts, graphs and tabulations. These tools will interpret the respondent’s preferences and considerations regarding the effectiveness of coaching methods employed by the management in the university. Graphs will depict the trends in preferences and tables will depict the actual frequencies of the responses.  Moreover, these tools will be more affective to make an ordinary nonprofessional understand the data being gathered and analyzed.

Research participants

            Research participants of the study are the employees of the Taibah University, Madina, Saudi Arabia. All employed personnel of the University will be the population of the study. These employees include faculty. Faculty of Computer Science, special Education, Physical Education, Family  Education, Arabic Language, Social Sciences, Science, Mathematics, Art Education and Islamic Studies.

Unit of analysis:

            Unit of analysis of the current study is individual. There are three levels of unit of analysis, which include individual, group and organizational. Each level assesses the perception of the respondents. Current study is concerned with investigating the individual perceptions of the participants regarding the effectiveness of coaching methods in the university. On contrary, group level perception investigates the perceptions based upon teams and groups.  Similarly, organizational level investigates the perceptions based upon organizational level. Current study is concerned with individual perceptions about coaching effectiveness in the university.

Data collection:

            Data collection is the integral part of research process. It is based upon both primary and secondary data. Both data are important for the research procedures. However, there level of analysis and collection differs. Current research employs primary data collection. Data will be collected directly from the respondents. Data will be cross sectional.  Primary data is collected first time directly from the respondents. It provides latest and up-to-date data findings. Similarly, the importance of secondary cannot be negated. It is based on the previous research work done by the researchers in their respective fields. Currently study will assess the perceptions of respondents, which are employees of the university. Primary data will greatly facilitate the research process. Direct and current responses will facilitate the researcher and research procedure to come up with authentic and latest findings. Employees will able to point out the effectiveness of existing coaching methods and the areas for future development.  There are various techniques to collect data, which are given below.

Research strategy:

            There are diverse research strategies to collect the data. These strategies include but not limited to questionnaires, observations and structured and non-structured interviews. All strategies are affective and suitable for research procedures. However, nature and purpose of the research decides which strategy will be employed to collect the data. Current study employs interview techniques to collect the data. Interviews will be conducted to collect the perceptions of the employees regarding the effectiveness of the coaching methods in the university. Questions will be developed in advance. Interview technique is best suitable for qualitative research and facilitates exploratory research methods. Interviews questions will be developed in advanced. Interview will be comprised of two sections. First sections will provide information about the demographics of the respondents that include gender, education, age and tenure. This information is very important to compare the perceptions of the respondents. Second portion will consist of questions related to effectiveness of evaluation methods employed in the university facility. Questions will investigate various coaching methods as well as their implementation and effectiveness.  These questions will be developed with great care, as they are necessary to collect important information about the problem under investigation.

Data analysis:

            Qualitative data analysis techniques will be employed to analyze and interpret the data. For that purpose, various techniques will be utilized. These techniques include tabulation, frequencies, graphs and charts. When responses will collect from the respondents, data will be analyzed through these techniques. Frequency distribution will assess the perceptions of the respondent’s interims of the number of respondents. Similarly, graphs and charts will better depict the frequencies in the form of pictorials. Interview questions will depict the actual perceptions of the respondents about the effectiveness of the coaching methods employed in the university.
