            Term paper explores comparative study of production sharing across the globe by Japanese automakers.  Such sharing comes to realization with collaboration of US interlocking relationships Japanese automakers and spare parts suppliers. Such network is known as Keiretsu network. Findings of the paper reveal that modality and extent of production sharing is considerably different from European counterpart and US. Japanese automakers think that overseas production from subsidiary plants is comparatively less important with respect to export from homeland. They perceive that International suppliers are better to supply auto spare parts.

            It is further found in the article that such collaboration will benefit sides, US and Japan. Both countries will benefit from diverse expertise in automating industry. Production sharing in US is characterized as vertical integration through mergers and acquisitions of parts suppliers. On the other hand, production sharing in European automobiles is characterized as arm’s length transactions through the market. Hence, such differences in production sharing will lead towards mutual beneficial investment in both markets.
