The HOFSTEDE dimension is that includes the brief discussion of cross- cultural values of community and society. The national culture of India is based on the lack of developed infrastructure as well as most congested rail road’s that creates problems for the UPS fro traveling goods from one place to another.  The delivery of local levels is the major task of the USP that creates difficulty in approaching desired destination due to rural areas are lack of adequate roadways.

On the other hand UPS has maintained its operation in United States with overnight delivery.  The high level of commitment in delivery of goods at overnight is the core values in the US cultural values. In the US, UPS has maintained its operations with well infrastructure.  On the other hand, UPS faced challenges in India due to poor infrastructure of railway and roadways.   This is the major constraint that faced by UPS and restricts the for the expansion strategy in the India.


What capabilities and resources can UPS utilize to succeed in the Indian market? Why? What capabilities and resources are likely to not be important in the Indian market? Why?
There are certain capabilities and resources that could be utilized by the UPS to successes in the Indian market. Before entering in the Indian market the USP already develops certain strategies to target overall global world. This includes merchants parcel delivery for the development of reputation as well as business to business segment to integrate business portfolios in well manage. In addition to this retail store services, common carrier rights, UPS airlines and synchronization of commerce indicates certain resources and capabilities to target in the Indian market. In the India that has high level of technological integration industry with lower wages utilizing by UPS to sustain in the Indian market.  

In addition to this India has great and reliable source of IT, business process outsourcing, development of transportation system, aviation industry indicates capabilities and resources but transportation system would not be suitable as resources for UPS. The reason behind such is over populated area more congestion has to be take placed that could not be helpful from the developing transportation and logistics operational utilization.
